by Reverend Dan on June 30, 2021“To everything there is a season.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1
It’s time for another season of change.
I “re-started” this devotional a little over a year ago in response to Covid as I tried to stay in touch with as many people as possible in as many ways as possible. And to that end, I believe it has worked.
Thank you all for the wonderful comments and words of encouragement. I’m glad that in some small way, it kept us connected. And I’m glad that in a large way it kept us together in God’s Word.
But now that the world is opening back up for business, I’m once again having to reset my priorities. That means more time out of the office, and less time behind the computer. And one of the casualties of that is this devotional.
The good news is that you don’t need this to stay in God’s Word. It’s right there in front of you, waiting to speak to you in whatever way and voice God chooses to use. That’s the beauty of the Bible; God never fails to speak in new ways every time you open it.
My parting message to you is from the book of Joshua. “Keep this book always on your lips; meditate on it night and day, so that you may be careful to do everything that is written in it.”
Let’s all look forward with hope and joy and anticipation to the new season that lies ahead, knowing that whatever may come, God’s Word is unchanging and bound in our hearts if we only keep it there.
Thank you.
Eternal God you are always more willing to speak than we are to listen. Open our ears and our hearts to the sound of your voice and give us the wisdom and courage to obey it’s call. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
